About Telangana

Telangana State:

Telangana state formed on 2nd June 2014 as the 29th state in mixture of India. Telangana consider as 12th largest state in India.State Borders of telangana are Maharashtra ,Chattisgarh to north ,Karnataka to the west ,Andhrapradesh to its south ,east and north east. The Telangana State comprises of 10 districts covering an area of 1,14,840 sq. km (44,340 sq. mi). The largest district in Telangana is Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad is the smallest district and also Telangana's capital city. The Paramount Cities in Telangana are Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Warangal, Karimnagar. The 10 Districts of telangana are Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad,Karimnagar ,mahabubnagar, Khammam, Adilabad, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Medak.


Telangana movement :

There are several movements lead to the formation of Telangana in 1969,1972,2009 .The telangana movement gained momentum on 2009 december 9th Due to the TRS Leader K.Chnadrashekar rao Efforts for the Formation of Telangana .Indian Government announced that they will start the process of Telangana state formation and the next day the decision was put hold as the leaders from Costal Andra and rayalaseema resigned .Then the Telangana movement Restarted , Telangana freedom fighters hundreds of people commited suicide and the movement is carried by every one in telangana Efforts put by the TRS party, OU JAC played major role in Telangana state formation.

Telangana Movement History From 1956 to 2014:

· 1956 Telangana, Telugu-speaking areas of Hyderabad state, combined with the Andhra state to form Andhra Pradesh (AP)


· 1969 ‘Jai Telangana’ agitation started for formation of separate Telangana state


· 1972 ‘Jai Andhra’ movement started for separate Andhra state


· 2001 K Chandrasekhar Rao launched Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party for separate Telangana movement


· Dec 9, 2009 At that point Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram, declares the Center's choice to start the procedure of a Telangana state


· Dec 23, 2009 Due to Resignation of Seemandhra MPs and MLAs, Center puts the Decision to Form telangana state on hold
· Feb 3, 2010 Center sets up five-membered Srikrishna committee to investigate the issue. Srikrishna commite submits report in December, recommending the options in State formation


· July 30, 2013 Congress Working Committee passes resolution recommending formation of Telangana state


· Oct 3, 2013 Union Cabinet approves proposal to bifurcate AP


· Dec 5, 2013 Union Cabinet approves draft AP Reorganisation Bill. Bill passed  to AP legislature for its views


· Jan 30, 2014 AP legislature, rejects the Bill


· Feb 7, 2014 Union Cabinet clears Bill; Lok Sabha passes Bill on Feb 18


· March 1, 2014 Bill receives assent of President


· On June 2, 2014 telangana is formed as 29th state of India with Hyderabad as its capital city.

About Telangana State:


1. Telangana state is a newly formed 29th state of union in India on June 2nd 2014.

2. Telangana ranked as 12 th largest state in southern region.

3. It has an area of 114,840 Square Km (44,340 sq. mi), and a population of 35,286,757 (according to 2011 census),

4. Hyderabad serves as joint capital for both the states Telangana and Andhrapradesh for 10 years i.e until 2024

5. Telangana State is boarded by the state of Karnataka to the west , Andhra Pradesh to the south and east, state of Chhattisgarh to the north-east and state of Maharashtra to the north and north-west,

6. Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar are the major cities in Telangana.

Telangana Festivals:


Hindus celebrates Bathukamma (State Festival), Ugadi , , Diwali, RAKHI, Sankranti ,Diwali, Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, Mahasivaratri , Dasara , Ganesh Chaturthi,

Muslims celebrate the Islamic festivals of Muharram, Mawlid Ramzan, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Mawlid and peerla Panduga.

Christians celebrate  Good Friday and Christmas .

Transportation in Telangana:


Telangana state  is well connected with Roadways ,Railways and airways.

                                                   

Roadways:


Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) handles the public transportation (bus) in telangana.Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (M.G.B.S) in Hyderabad this is the largest bus station n Asia.
biggest Inter City Bus Terminal (ICBT) is being built in Hyderabad nearly 1000 buses can be parked in ICBT


Railways:

South Central Railway serves the state of, Telangana WITH ITS headquarters at secundrabad . South Central Railway Zone is the 2nd highest revenue earning zone in Indian Railways









Airports:

To facilitate  air travel to the passengers we have Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad called as shamshabad airport which is 22 kilometers from the city and also Government of Telangana State planned to build Airports at Ramagundam and Kothagudem.Warangal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar,













Telangana University:

Telangana University is  located at Dichpally in Nizamabad,Telangana state , started  in 2006 by the government of Andhra Pradesh. It is in DIchpally ,Nizamabad District .United AP goverment gave land of 600 acres land of dichpally and its villages to the Telangana university.
Telangana university has 600 acres of land and it is established through act no 28 of 2006
